Silk georgette is a fabric often only used by the finest luxury houses. You see, georgette describes how the fibers are woven in highly twisted yarns to create the characteristic crinkled, crepe-like surface. Our georgette is made from 100% natural silk, the result is a magnificent semi-sheer creation, the silk makes the resulting fabric strong, lightweight and breathable. A truly functional and beautiful addition to your wardrobe.
Our featherlight silk georgette is printed with Shakera's gorgeous peony design. Seemingly delicate, the fabric resists creasing and has a luxurious ethereal feel. Combined with the long, slim silhouette the material falls effortlessly to create a feminine drape.

Behind the Design
Peonies, peonies, peonies! These frilled fancies make their presence known in springtime, bulbous and tight knit in bud form until the blooms are ready to unfurl and display their magnificent frilled fancies. For Shakera, these flowers tickled her fancy; petals in radiant colours and a golden center marked by delicate fine golden anthers as though the peony was sharing its happy secret.
The image the peonies created teased her pen and so she drew, in pencil and fine liners, she captured every frill and sweep of a petal, avoiding the temptation to colour and instead concentrating on the shape and the flow of the peony. The final touch came in bringing the anthers to life in a contrasting shade of yellow, the anthers that so brought a smile to Shakera's face can bring a smile to you too.
